The spread of moisture from sources of Mondi SCP and their impact on the microclimate after the project ECO PLUS - Installation of a new paper machine PM19
Sokol, Zbyněk ; Řezáčová, Daniela
The report summarizes the results of the assessment of the impact of changes in humidity and heat emissions from sources of Mondi SCP for selected climatic characteristics associated with the expansion of production at the new paper machine PS19A. The assessment is based on a comparison of impacts to the existing system resources, including an increase in pulp production (Project 2000), and extended system of resources associated with the operation of PS19A. The results were obtained by applying a mathematical model CT-PLUME/MONDI_R. The calculations were performed for the winter part of the years 2011 to 2014 and included an assessment of the impact of point and diffuse sources on the climatic characteristics of the model area.
Study of the impact of the new energy block Domoradice on local climate II
Sokol, Zbyněk ; Řezáčová, Daniela
The study stems from a previous work, where we used a mathematical model CT-PLUME / DOM. It is a basic model CT-PLUME adapted to assess the effect of mechanical cooling towers located in Domoradice on the model area. This study differs from the previous one in two respects: it processes 3-year period (2013, 2014 and 2015) and in addition to the basic climatic characteristics pays attention to icing. For this study, the basic module used before should be extended to model the conditions for the formation of ice in the vicinity. The final version of the model used in this study is referred to as CT-PLUME / DOM-2.
A study on the influence of Dukovany power station on microclimate for the EIA documentation
Sokol, Zbyněk ; Řezáčová, Daniela
The study stems from the previous studies. We adapted the basic mathematical model CT-PLUME to assess the impact of cooling towers with natural draft, stationed in Dukovany site, on the given model area of 60 km x 60 km. The evaluation used meteorological data from 2010-2015 and compared the effect of the current towers with the new system EDU1-4 specified by the customer. This study differs significantly from the previous works in two aspects. It uses 6-year period (years 2010-2015) of data and analyzes the impact of 8 configurations with natural draft cooling towers contemplated in connection with the expansion of the Dukovany power station. The mathematical model CT-PLUME was adapted to the conditions of a specific task and is referred to as CT-PLUME / EDU_3.
PIV and LIF study of flow and thermal fields of twine plumes in water
Broučková, Zuzana ; Trávníček, Zdeněk
Flow and thermal fields of a pair of plane plumes in water are investigated using PIV and LIF experiments. The plumes are generated from thermal line sources (electrically heated cylinders, diameter D = 1.21 mm). Either continuous or pulsating heating were used with the same heating input power. For a continuous heating, low frequency oscillations were identified and the natural frequency was evaluated as 0.5 Hz. Pulsating heating was used at frequency of 0.25 Hz. The maximum time-mean velocity magnitude at the continuous and pulsating heating were commensurable, approximately 0.007 m/s. Temperature fields reasonably agree with these findings.
The spread of moisture from sources of Mondi SCP Inc. and its influence on the formation of rime and temperature inversion
Sokol, Zbyněk ; Řezáčová, Daniela
This study presents the results of the evaluation heat and moisture emissions from the premises of Mondi SCP, Inc., Ruzomberok, and the impact of these emissions on selected climatic characteristics of the region. It focuses mainly on assessing the impact of emissions on the development of icing and temperature inversions. In addition to assessing the current status of emissions the objective of the study was to assess the impact of the modified emissions, which consisted in an increase in emissions of moisture in some sources as a result of the proposed production increase of Mondi.

Sokol, Zbyněk ; Řezáčová, Daniela
The report contains an evaluation of the impact of new cooling towers of the power plant Dukovany on local temperature, humidity and shading by a visible plume.
The impact of Nuclear Power Plant Temelin on the climate of surrounding area
BARÁTOVÁ, Michaela
BARÁTOVÁ, M. (2012): The impact of Nuclear Power Plant Temelin on the climate of surrounding area. Bachelor Thesis. University of South Bohemia, Pedagogical faculty, Department of Geography. 128 pages Nuclear power plant Temelin is a dominant, which forms silhouette of the Ceskobudejovicka basin. It is a construction, which faces and resists criticism from environmental organizations. Benefit or threat to South Bohemia? Undoubtebly, the area of disputes between politicians of Czech Republic and Austria. This bachelor thesis evaluates especially climate impacts of Nuclear Power Plant Temelin. Theoretical - methodological base is mainly focused on the discussion of literature, in general and in specific terms researched the topic and related hypotheses. General section then describes the basic physical - geographical characteristics of the selected area, special emphasis is placed on climatography. An integral part of the general section is a brief description of working the youngest European power plant. The analytical section is dedicated to monitoring climate of surrounding area ETE using data that was recorded by Observatory Czech Hydrometeorological Office in Temelin and the results are compared with data that were recorded during the same period by in České Budějovice. The monitoring of climate surrounding area of Nuclear Power Plant is assessed from two perspectives. The first view sees the climate before the start of nuclear power plants in operation, so from 1989 to 2001; the second look is focused on changes which was formed after the running of nuclear power plants in 2002. The analytical part shows the possible changes in selected climatic characteristics that could be caused by cooling tower plume.
